The Kentucky Humane Society has a wonderful network of foster care families who open their homes and hearts -- for a few days or even a few months -- to care for special needs animals who are not yet ready to be adopted. In 2005, the Foster Care Program cared for 670 pets.

From puppies and kittens too young for adoption to pets needing a more gradual adjustment into a new environment, foster care parents not only help KHS care of our furry friends, but ultimately help them find permanent, loving homes!

Interested in becoming a foster parent? Contact our Volunteer Manager at (502) 515-3145.
