Hundreds of pet lovers were whisked away to an enchanting evening for needy pets! The Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) hosted its 15th annual TUXES & TAILS benefit auction and gala, with the theme of
“Fairy Tails,” on August 16 at the Marriott Downtown.
The magical night got underway at 6 p.m. with red carpet valet
parking, silent auction, open bar, and hors d’oeuvres followed
by a delicious dinner, live auction, adoptable pets, live music
provided by Flashpoint and more! FOX 41 anchors Barry
Bernson and Candyce Clifft hosted the festivities, along with
Lite 106.9 morning show hosts and animal lovers,
Kathi Lincoln and Jeff Ramsey.
The silent auction featured more than 100 items, including
artwork, jewelry, spa packages and more. During the live
auction, one lucky bidder win the opportunity to feature their
beloved pet on the cover of the 2009 KHS Pet Calendar.
There also was a special “Golden Ticket” drawing where the
lucky winner, drawn from the 100 tickets sold that evening, selected the live auction item of their choice -- Ryder Cup tickets.
