Pets Looking for Homes
Support the WAGGIN' TRAIL 5K and help KHS find homes for thousands of needy dogs and cats! Here are just a couple of our adoptable pets...

Wags, a white and tan 11-month-old hound/Corgi mix, is a PLAYFUL PAL!  Lively and inquisitive, this gorgeous girl is always looking for new games to play.

This friendly dog wants to work hard and enjoy life to the fullest. But, when the day is over, she'll be ready to relax by your feet. Wags appears to be housebroken and loves other dogs, but she would do best with children six years and older.  Spayed and microchipped, with up-to-date vaccinations, this sweetheart may just be the perfect match for you!

Come meet Wags by visiting the Kentucky Humane Society's main campus!
Or, call (502) 366-3355 for more information.

Sage, a sweet four-year-old medium-haired tabby, can't wait to be your lap cat! Won't you be her new best friend? Extremely affectionate, Sage loves to be showered with attention and would be happiest indoors since she's declawed on her front paws. She's great with children and appears to like other cats, so this easygoing girl may just be the perfect fit for your family. Spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations, Sage is ready to join YOUR family!

Sage would make a wonderful pet and lifelong friend, so come visit her today at the Kentucky Humane Society's main campus! Or, call (502) 366-3355 for more information.

To the Rescue! Stories & Updates
YOUR support of the WAGGIN' TRAIL 5K helps animals like these!

"Black Diamond," a stray 4-year-old black cat, was brought to KHS with a severely swollen left eye in mid-April. The KHS veterinary staff promptly performed a medical examination, determining that his completely red eye may have been injured, possibly punctured, during a fight with another animal.

Due to the severity of his wound, Black Diamond's eye appeared that it would not heal and possibly could lead to a severe infection if left untreated. On April 18, a KHS veterinarian performed surgery and removed his left eye. Black Diamond continues to receive oral antibiotics and will be placed in foster care until he's once again healthy and ready for adoption. KHS wishes him a speedy recovery!

-UPDATE-
"Frederick,
" a 7-month-old Gordon setter mix, came to KHS in late January with a badly injured right paw. After months of treatment and foster care, the playful pup was placed for adoption at the St. Matthews KHS-Feeders Supply adoption site. In early April, Frederick was adopted to a wonderful family in Louisville!
