Pets Looking for Homes
Help KHS find homes for thousands of needy dogs and cats! Here are just a couple of our adoptable pets...

"Toby" is a one-year-old Australian shepherd mix. Friendly and playful, this happy-go-lucky boy is always on the go! He loves to run, play and run some more. Toby appears to be housetrained and like other dogs, but he would do best with children 12 years and older.

Neutered, microchipped and vaccinated, Toby can't wait to be your new sidekick! Visit this sweet boy today at the KHS main campus!  Or, call (502) 366-3355 for more information.

"Lucky," a seven-year-old white medium-haired kitty, wants to find his forever home! Regal and relaxed, this handsome guy is a mellow cat with few worries. Lucky is very affectionate and appears to like other cats. Neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations, this sweet kitty can offer a lifetime of companionship if given a chance!

Come meet Lucky today at the Preston KHS-Feeders Supply adoption site! Or, call (502) 366-3355 for more information.

To the Rescue! Stories & Updates
Every month, KHS helps hundreds of animals in need. Here's just one of our rescue stories...

In late September, a kind resident brought a three-month-old kitten to KHS after she was struck by a vehicle in South Louisville, Ky. The KHS veterinary team immediately examined the young feline and determined that "Cassidy" suffered from a badly fractured joint in her left rear leg, leaving it completely immobilized. In order to avoid the spread of infection and save Cassidy's life, the KHS veterinary team amputated her leg and placed the kitten on antibiotics.

Surprisingly, Cassidy recovered from surgery quicker than expected by staff. Within three days, she was placed in foster care with a dedicated volunteer, who says that Cassidy is doing well and has adjusted to life as a three-legged cat.

Once fully recovered, Cassidy will be placed for adoption and ready to find her forever home. KHS wishes her a speedy recovery!
