I wanted
to share a funny story about our great dog, Charlie. My stepdaughters are the
ones who encouraged their dad and I look at puppies in the fall of 2008. Paul, Patrick and Possum were thought to be
Australian Shepherd mixes that the KHS was trying to find homes for via the St.
Matthews Feeders Supply adoption site. Needless to say, we all fell in love
with them and once we decided on which one to take home, we all put names in a
hat and drew out Charlie as his new name.
Ray
and I had gotten married in August of that year and the last thing on our minds
was a dog, but it was one of the best things we did. I could not be happier. The
lady who helped us said that he would grow to be about
25 pounds
or so, which made my husband happy. But to our surprise, he grew much larger -
75 pounds to be exact! This just provides more to love in my estimation.
I wanted to send along with this story a few cute puppy pics making it hard to believe this ball of fur got so big and remains so loving and adorable. I am grateful for the opportunity to adopt such a great dog and when getting another dog, we will always go through the Kentucky Humane Society!
