Fun & Educational Camps for the Next Generation of Pet Guardians!
Let your child learn about pet guardianship while having fun! In 2010, the Kentucky Humane Society will host its 23rd year of summer camp with some new twists.
The ever-popular Animal Adventure Camp, offered 8 weeks June through August, will include new activities for children ages 6 to 12. This camp is offered at our Main Campus, as well as our new East Campus location in Lyndon. Canine Companion Camp, for children 8 to 12, allows participants to bring their dog to camp with them. Designed for young people ages 12 to 16, Animal Advocate Camp camp allows participants to become more involved with our shelter, while learning about animal-related careers and issues.
KHS also now offers a Spring Break Camp for kids -- a fun & educational opportunity for any young animal lover!

Animal Adventure Camp
Animal Adventure Camp allows campers, age 6 to 12, to have fun while expanding their animal care knowledge by:
- Learning how to care for dogs and cats by bathing and playing with adoptable animals
- Participating in educational, animal-related games and activities
- Learning how to safely handle companion animals
- Meeting new friends -- two-legged and four-legged!
- Learning about responsible pet guardianship
What's more, Animal Adventure Campers will enhance their learning through arts and crafts, guest speakers, educational videos and skits. Children will build a sense of kindness, respect and responsibility for animals and life!
CAMP DATES
Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Ages 6-12
Weeklong Camp: $175
Children are grouped according to age. Extended care and Pizza Friday options also are available.
Canine Companion Camp
Canine Companion Camp is designed to strengthen the bond between campers and their four-legged friend. Campers will learn how to properly interact with their dog through hands-on experience in:

*Please note that dogs must be undergo an evaluation with our behavior staff prior to the first day of camp. Dogs with previous training will be given preference. This is to ensure that the dog will be appropriate for the camp environment. Dates for evaluations to be scheduled at a later date.

Spring Break Camp for Kids!
Want to keep your child busy during spring break? Does your kid love animals?
The Kentucky Humane Society is now offering a spring break camp for kids! KHS will host a weeklong Animal Adventure Camp at the KHS Main Campus in 2010. The camp costs $175, and all fees benefit the KHS mission.
