President’s Bio

Lori Kane Redmon is President and CEO of the Kentucky Humane Society, a private, non-profit organization dedicated to eliminated pet overpopulation through proactive programs such as spay/neuter initiatives, education and adoption programs. Lori has been with KHS since 2000, when she was recruited to establish the KHS behavior training program.  She was promoted to chief operating officer in 2003, then to president in late 2004.

She has a B.S. in Zoology from Michigan State University and has worked in the humane field for over 20 years. Redmon was named one of Louisville’s “40 Under 40” by Business First in 2006, was a member of the Leadership Louisville Class of 2007 and participated in Leadership Louisville’s Bingham Fellow program in 2008.  She is a member of the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators (SAWA) and a past member of Louisville’s Downtown Rotary.

As president of KHS, Lori’s focus is building relationships with area businesses and other animal groups in order to engender a more comprehensive, community-wide approach to animal welfare issues. Her ability to balance her passion for animals and vast experience in the humane field with a keen sense of business and professionalism has enabled the non-profit to implement new procedures that have improved efficiency, accountability and service, as well as to launch innovative new programs for the public, including the new S.N.I.P. Clinic.

Lori lives with her husband, Kevin, and many dogs, cats and horses on their farm in Spencer County.
