Admissions Process

At the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS), we believe in lifelong commitments to companion animals and work tirelessly to create and maintain such a bond. However, we do understand that there are circumstances that prevent you from being able to keep your animal, and we are here to help you through this difficult time.
Surrendering your pet to a sheltering agency should be considered a last resort. Please consider all available alternatives prior to contacting the KHS Admissions Office. This may include rehoming your animal with a friend, relative or neighbor. You have a number of choices, and surrendering your pet to KHS is just one of them.
