Local Artists Decorate Donation Banks for Kentucky Humane Society
Public Invited to ‘Vote’ at Copper & Kings Show
LOUISVILLE KY – The public is invited to an art show benefiting shelter pets at the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) Thursday, March 10, 2016, 5-8 p.m. at Copper & Kings, 1111 E Washington St.
"Wags to Riches" features dog- and cat-shaped donation banks painted by local artists of all ages, as well as adoptable animals, music by local talent Emily Lancaster, hors d'ouevres by Born Fresh and a tasting tour of the distillery's brandies for guests age 21 and over. Copper & Kings specialty sodas will also be available at this family-friendly event. Admission is $10 and includes food, tastings and distillery tours every 20 minutes.
The public is encouraged to "vote" for their favorite banks by making donations to the banks. At the end of the event, the creators of the two banks with the greatest totals (one in the youth division and one in the adult division) and the two most creative banks will receive prizes.
After the art show, the banks will be placed in local businesses to collect donations for KHS animals. Local businesses interested in displaying a KHS donation bank may contact Jeni Church at [email protected] or 502-515-3147.
Wags to Riches is presented by Park Community Credit Union. Special thanks Copper & Kings for donating the event space and to Feeders Supply, Bearno's Pizza, The Destination and Dundee Candy Shop for providing prizes for the artists.
KHS is the state's largest pet adoption agency. A private nonprofit, KHS relies on donations to fund its lifesaving mission.
Space for the reception has been generously donated by Copper & Kings.
Food provided by Born Fresh.
