Foster manager Kayla Saylor said that KHS is also looking for new foster caregivers.
“Fostering cats and kittens is a fun, rewarding way to help needy animals,” said Saylor. “The animals live in your home until the kittens are old enough to be spay/neutered and adopted – usually a few weeks. Then KHS and Purrfect Day Café find them amazing adopters.”
KHS is the largest and oldest animal welfare agency in Kentucky. Their goal is to reduce pet homelessness through adoption, spaying/neutering and proactive programs that help keep animals in their homes and out of shelter.

About the Kentucky Humane Society
The Kentucky Humane Society is the state’s largest pet adoption agency. 2019 was the largest adoption year on record for KHS, and the biggest winners were cats: for the first time in KHS history, more cats were adopted than dogs, thanks in part to adoptions at Purrfect Day Cafe. In addition to adoptions, KHS is well-known as the area's largest spay/neuter provider. Since the KHS S.N.I.P. Clinic opened in 2007, more than 120,000 local cats and dogs have been spayed or neutered. Learn more
