Dec. 3 is #GivingTuesday! In the next 24 hours, we want to do something big. With YOUR help, we hope to raise $10,000. This is enough to prepare an additional 40 animals for adoption. DONATE NOW
It takes $250 to provide each animal with food, medical care and a warm place to stay until they find their forever home. On this national day of giving, will you make a lifesaving gift to help the dogs, cats and horses in our care? We will share our progress throughout the day on Facebook and Twitter.
Let’s see how many more animals can we can save because of you and other kind donors!
Dear Friend of the Animals,
At just six weeks of age, Ruby had already known a lifetime of heartache.
She was abandoned by her owners in rural Kentucky. By the time her rescuers found her and brought her to the Kentucky Humane Society, both of her front legs were broken, and the tiny puppy was fighting for her life.
Without help, Ruby wouldn’t survive much longer. She needed urgent medical care to relieve her pain — and plenty of food, and loving attention to regain her strength and spirit.
A big thanks to Jeremy Bewley, DMD, DICOI, of Cornerstone Dental who donated a dental handpiece to the Kentucky Humane Society! This equipment retails for about $1,600, and we so appreciate this amazing donation!
Imagine what your gift can do, when you donate to the Kentucky Humane Society during Give for Good Louisville! This 24-hour online giving day hosted by the Community Foundation of Louisville was created to inspire people to give generously to local nonprofits. Online giving takes place between midnight and 11:59 p.m. at the Give for Good Kentucky Humane Society Page.
Meet our July Volunteer of the Month, Roberta Elmore! Retired from the accounting field and as a dog groomer, Roberta has refueled her passion for animal care by volunteering at the Kentucky Humane Society.
