This weekend, all KHS felines can be adopted for just $20 at the KHS East Campus and at KHS adoption centers at 9 Feeders Supply stores.
Six-week-old Jewel is an adorable tabby who came to the Kentucky Humane Society at the end of September. When little Jewel arrived at KHS, she was under a month old and in dire shape. The poor kitten was suffering from multiple fractures to her ribs, pelvis and vertebrae—most likely caused by being either stepped on or kicked. She was extremely lethargic, couldn’t stand or walk, and in so much pain that her eyes would swell with tears any time our staff gingerly picked her up to feed her. We weren’t sure whether Jewel would have the strength to survive, but we knew she deserved a chance.
Every day, the Kentucky Humane Society takes in needy dogs, cats and horses. Whatever their experiences were before they come to our doors, our goal is to help them become healthy, happy companion animals who are ready for adoption.
Concerned citizens have donated $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) who shot Ziggy, a 5-week-old kitten, with a BB gun.
