Dear Friend of the Animals,

The animals at the Kentucky Humane Society desperately need your help.

Hundreds of dogs, cats and horses are in need of lifesaving care, loving attention and forever homes.

And during the coronavirus pandemic, it’s become even more challenging to help these animals. Our resources are stretched to the limit.

With local pet owners staying #HealthyatHome, Kentuckiana’s dogs are loving the extra walks, attention and time they get to spend with their families. But as the region prepares to slowly open up businesses, all this extra time with our pets may coming to an end for many families.

That’s why the Kentucky Humane Society is recommending that families start preparing their dogs for changes to their schedules. Some dogs may react by showing signs of loneliness and even separation anxiety when their owners leave the house.

The Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) has received a COVID-19 Relief Fund grant from the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) to help dog, cat and horse owners struggling during the coronavirus outbreak. The goal is to help keep animals in their homes and out of shelters, according to KHS.
