The Purrfect Day Café opened on International Cat Day on August 8, 2019. Since then, more than 1,000 Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) cats have been adopted through the café – blowing past the goal of 300 annual adoptions that Purrfect Day Café and KHS set!
A donation from Supplies Over Seas - a Louisville based charity known for providing medical help for overseas patients - recently donated medical supplies and equipment to the Kentucky Humane Society.
Learn how this generosity helped KHS save the live of Cranberry, an eight-week-old pit bull mix who needed a lifesaving blood transfusion.

UPDATE JANUARY 2020: We are grateful to the ASPCA for their support of our Horse Help Line in 2019. The grant has ended, and we do not have funding to provide financial aid to struggling horse owners. However, we can still provide free advice and may be able to make referrals to other agencies who can help.
The Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) has announced a new project to help keep owned horses out of risk and in their homes. The project is funded by a $50,000 grant from the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
