The Kentucky Humane Society and S.N.I.P. Clinic will have the following closings for Derby Week:
This Saturday, April 30, is Adopt a Shelter Pet Day. It's a day to hold true to the adage "Adopt, don't shop," and to celebrate our friends who have come from the shelter. We want your help celebrating this day.
Kitten Season is a time when new life begins. While that seems joyful and adorable, it is actually a serious problem. The truth is, there are more cats and kittens in the shelter system than people who want cats.
The Kentucky Humane Society needs Kuranda Beds to keep those animals in our care comfortable. The beds are durable, warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Just what any dog would want! Click here to donate.
On April 15, Jen Foster will be at Headliners Music Hall to perform a benefit concert for the Kentucky Humane Society in memory of friend Jennifer Day. A quarter of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Kentucky Humane Society.
Clover came to the Kentucky Humane Society very pregnant with what turned out to be 18 puppies. All of Clover's puppies were adopted, but when would it be Clover's turn?
We're getting ready for kitten season, but we don't want to forget our adult cats. To help them find their forever homes (and to make room for kittens), we are hosting Cat-a-palooza April 8-15, 2016. During this adoption special, adoption fees are waived on cats one year and older.
These two lovely ladies, Lily and Mary, donated some fabric squares and dog treats at our East Campus location yesterday. They even picked out colors for the summer time! We want to say a big thank you to them for their generosity.
Jasmine is a fourteen-year-old dog with a lot of love to give. She's a sweet girl with a fair amount of pep in her step.
Looking for a cure for “cabin fever”? Adopt an adventure buddy! Our big dogs would love to get outside with you to play fetch, go for walks, visit the dog park, go camping or hiking – or just nap on the couch. April 1-10, 2016, adopt a dog 40 pounds or more for just $40 at Kentucky Humane Society adoption centers (excludes $10.50 Jefferson County licensing fees and Legacy Pets).
