Benefits of Adopting a Pet
Not only does a companion animal bring joy to your life, but by choosing to adopt from the Kentucky Humane Society, you’ll give homeless pets a second chance at happiness.
Benefits include:
- Saving animals’ lives! Adopting means that you’ll take home a pet who’s been waiting for a new home…and you’ll also free up space for another homeless pet at KHS. By choosing the “adoption option,” you help us reduce pet overpopulation so fewer cats and dogs suffer in the future.
- Getting a great deal! All pets who are adopted from KHS have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Plus, adopters receive coupons and other discounts. Many people believe that animals end up in shelters because they have been abused and neglected, or due to something that they did “wrong.” This is a common misconception since a majority of pets in our care are surrendered due to “people reasons” like financial hardships, allergies, moving and lack of time. - You’ll feel better! There are many health benefits related to having a pet — physically, emotionally and psychologically. Learn how pets help people.
