|Redd (Adoption Ambassador FELV + $5 Adoption Fee)|
Looking for a best friend to love? Meet Redd! Redd is a four-month-old Domestic Shorthair kitty who came to the Kentucky Humane Society from an overcrowded shelter. Upon arriving, Redd tested positive for Feline Leukemia or FeLV. While in other shelters Redd would be facing a grim fate because of his FeLV status, KHS believes he deserves a chance at a full life even if it is a shorter life! Because Redd is FeLV positive, he will need to be the only kitty in the home or go home with other FeLV kitties. Redd is currently in foster care while he waits for his forever home to come along. Redd's foster parent says he is a curious tuxedo who loves to play! He also will stand by you and purr your ear off if you pet him afterwards. Could you be the one for this little guy? If so, please meet him! Redd is neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations.
Kitties like me have a shorter lifespan due to Feline Leukemia (FeLV), but we still deserve the chance for a happy life. Because of my FeLV status, I must be the only kitty in my home or go to a household with other FeLV-positive cats, and I cannot be let outside. I will also need an adopter who understands that I will need more frequent veterinary checkups due to my condition. If you're interested in learning more about me and FeLV, please ask my adoption counselor for details.
Redd is currently in a foster home and is not located at an adoption center. If you are interested in meeting Redd, please first submit an online adoption application located at www.kyhumane.org/cat-app. Once we have received your adoption application, our foster team will follow up and provide you with more information.
