|Bleu (East Campus FELV + $5 Adoption Fee)|
Meet the beautiful Bleu! Bleu is a six-month-old black kitten who came to the Kentucky Humane Society from an overcrowded shelter. Upon arriving at KHS, Bleu tested positive for Feline Leukemia or FeLV. While in other shelters Bleu would be facing a grim fate because of his FeLV status, KHS believes he deserves a chance at a full life even if it is a shorter life! Because Bleu is FeLV positive, he will need to be the only kitty in the home or go home with other FeLV kitties. Bleu is shy when you first meet him and takes a little time to warm up to new people and surroundings. Once he knows you're a friend, he will stick right by your side! Bleu spent some time in foster care where we were able to learn more about him. In his foster home, Bleu loved belly and butt rubs, chasing his best buddy Gizmo (another Felv positive kitten who's looking for home, maybe you could adopt the pair together!), cuddling, scratching his scratching post and playing with the small dog in the home. Bleu will need lots of time to adjust in his new home but please be patient with him. He's been through a lot in his short life and just takes a little while to trust people. Could you be the one for this sweetheart? Bleu is neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations.
Kitties like me have a shorter lifespan due to Feline Leukemia (FeLV), but we still deserve the chance for a happy life. Because of my FeLV status, I must be the only kitty in my home or go to a household with other FeLV-positive cats, and I cannot be let outside. I will also need an adopter who understands that I will need more frequent veterinary checkups due to my condition. If you're interested in learning more about me and FeLV, please ask my adoption counselor for details.
