Make way for Berkley! This one-year-old is ready to change your life. Are you ready?! First thing's first: he's a teenager with the appearance and behaviors of an Australian Shepherd. Did you catch those icy blue eyes, too? They're always filled with a zest for life! And when he's not learning from humans, he's soaking up ALL the attention they can give him. Berkley came to the Kentucky Humane Society when his owner could not care for a large, active puppy like himself. If 53-pound Berkley were a student, he would be the class clown who's secretly a genius. This pooch is incredibly bright! But he also wants to have fun and is sometimes brushed off as a hooligan by potential adopters. We have to agree Berkley is a little silly sometimes (he loves playing a game called "jolly settle" for this reason)! This puppy has had very little training in his first few months of life. Yet, he has quickly developed a sense of joy learning alongside humans. He can't wait to keep learning with his new family and build an even closer bond as he grows up! Berkley has met some dogs at the shelter and enjoys playing in his own unique way. He does much better controlling his energy when he has a playmate. He has tried to play tag with cats...which the felines obviously did not enjoy. So he needs a home without other felines or small animals that he'd be tempted to chase (ferrets, rabbits, mice, etc.). Berkley is approved to go home with children ages 10 and up. Berkley is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his shots. All this little smarty pants is missing is you! See below for information on how to meet Berkley
Berkley is part of our shelter dog training program. If you are interested in meeting him, please first submit an online adoption application located at the following URL: www.kyhumane.org/dog-app. Once we have received your adoption application, our staff trainers will follow up and provide you with more information.
