|Rainstorm (Flood Rescue)(Main Campus)|
Meet our amazing boy, Rainstorm. Rainstorm is a one-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix who weighs 40 pounds and is on the lookout for a loving forever home. This special guy found himself at the Kentucky Humane Society when his original shelter in Hazard, Kentucky was hit by one of the worst floods seen in decades. The devastating flood left many homes underwater, bridges and entire roadways collapsed, drinking water was contaminated, and many human and animal lives were lost. Heartbroken for our fellow Kentuckians, we immediately stepped up to assist. Rainstorm, along with over 100 other animals, was up for adoption at an impacted animal shelter before the arrival of the flood. We transported Rainstorm and his friends to KHS so that their impacted shelters would have the space needed for animals displaced or injured by the flooding. Since making his debut at KHS, Rainstorm has quickly stolen all of our hearts. He is incredibly snuggly and cuddly with every person he's met! He would live in your lap if you allowed it. He loves rolling in the grass and ideally would have half his body rolling in the grass and half in your lap if possible. He walks well on a leash and sports the best disposition ever! Rainstorm has met some dogs while at the shelter and seems conflicted by them. Because of this, he would like to meet any potential dog roommates before being adopted. If you're looking for a gorgeous, affectionate friend to love- look no further! Rainstorm is neutered, micro-chipped, up-to-date on vaccines, and ready to go home with you!
I came to the Kentucky Humane Society from another shelter. The staff are still learning all about me. I miss being in a home and have a lot of love to give.
