Have you ever wondered what Mr. Darcy would look like in dog form? Well, first of all, he would change his name to Harley and look like a two-year-old Black-Mouth Cur. Lucky for all you Pride and Prejudice fans: Harley is adoptable! This socially awkward dog makes us laugh, cringe, and shake our heads whenever he meets someone new. Harley doesn't know how to take a compliment and will either shyly walk toward a stranger so they can pet him or get a sudden case of the zoomies and attempt a backflip...there's no in-between. In true Darcy form, he will sometimes even monologue his feelings. But underneath that awkwardness, he ardently admires all humans he meets! Volunteers have taken him on several "dates" to show him off. He's had a grand time exploring parks! Harley also enjoys long walks with other dogs and is polite. However, if they try to play with him, Harley extends a plea to the nearest tall thing - whether a tree, a human, or a wall - to rescue him from such unimaginable social torture. (We've all been there, buddy.) This fancy schmancy dude weighs about 44 pounds and is waiting to meet you! He is also neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his shots.
I came to the Kentucky Humane Society from another shelter. The staff are still learning all about me. I miss being in a home and have a lot of love to give.
