Huey (In Foster) |

Do you have a soft spot for the shy dogs? Do you have dogs at home that are friendly and welcoming to other dogs? Huey is looking for a home that fits that description and will give him the time and patience he needs to acclimate to his new surroundings.
This 3 year old hound mix is about as sweet and gentle as you could get. He spent the beginning of his life outside with limited human contact so now new people and new surroundings are scary for him. Huey has spent the last few months in foster and is becoming more and more confident each day. He's lived with dogs and cats with no problem. His foster mom says this is what he needs to be successful: - A home with other friendly dogs that he can learn from and play with. Huey loves being part of the group. - A home with a fenced yard. Huey is potty trained but walking on leash may be a challenge. He does great when he can go out to a yard - A home that understands he may not want to be touched or pet for possibly several months while he's getting used to them. In exchange you'll be rewarded with the love and fulfilment you get when you see a shy dog overcome his fear and learn to be a dog. You'll get soft tail wags when he sees you, his favorite person. You'll get to see his silly side when he spins and jumps around waiting for his dinner. You will maybe even tear up when he first comes to boop your hand, looking for affection. Huey is a special boy looking for a special home. Could that be you? Huey is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Huey is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting and potentially adopting him, please complete the online interest form at kyhumane.org/adoption-interest-form. Completing this form doesn't put Huey on hold or guarantee adoption. Someone from the Kentucky Humane Society will reach out to you via email within 72 hours if we feel that this pet could be a good match for your home. |
