|Bindi (Adoption Ambassador)|
Bindi is a five-year-old Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix who came to the Kentucky Humane Society from an overcrowded rural shelter. This leggy lady weighs just 11lbs and thrives around other dogs of similar size. Bindi was very nervous upon coming to KHS so she was enrolled in our Behavior Modification Program to gain confidence in new situations as well as when meeting new people. Bindi has shown that once she bonds with someone she has so much love to give and will check in with her handler if she's unsure about something. We have been working with Bindi on exploring her environment, rewarding her for checking out new things and being brave. Once Bindi has warmed up to someone she's quick to play, oftentimes zooming around the room, returning to the person and play bowing at them. She loves all toys and can often be found carrying them around in her mouth like they are her babies. She's a goofy girl who makes up for her small size with her big sassy personality. Bindi has met multiple dogs during her stay here and seems to prefer smaller, playful dogs who can keep up with her. After graduating from our Behavior Mod program, we sent Bindi to live in a foster home where she continues to thrive. While it still takes Bindi a while to warm up to new people, once she does, she is quite comical! She loves barking at dogs on TV and hiding her toys around the house. Bindi would do best in a quiet home without young children. Could you be the one for her? Bindi is spayed, micro-chipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations.
Bindi is a member of our adoption ambassador program. As part of our ambassador program, some of our feline and canine friends have the opportunity to live in foster homes. This allows our staff to learn more about each animal's individual personality and needs, while they are in a more comfortable living space, outside of the shelter setting. The goal of the Adoption Ambassador program is for these foster animals to be adopted directly from their foster home.
If you are interested in meeting Bindi, please first submit an adoption application to our foster team by emailing [email protected] Once we have received your adoption application, our team will provide you with more information.
I came to the Kentucky Humane Society from another shelter. The staff are still learning all about me. I miss being in a home and have a lot of love to give.
