|Jack (Mod Squad)|
Meet our very handsome boy, Jack! Jack is a two-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix who weighs 63 lbs and came to the Kentucky Humane Society when a kind family found him stray. They looked for Jack's owner for three long months and when no one came forward, they scheduled an appointment for Jack to come to KHS to find a new family to love. Since Jack arrived at the shelter, we have learned many things about this special boy. He super smooshalicious. Seriously, you can smoosh his face all day long and he loves it. He's very sweet and has loved every person he meets. He gets wiggly and gets his whole butt going when he's at his happiest! We do not know what his previous home was like but Jack will need time reacclimating to life inside a home and will need some help with relearning his house-training manners. We've also noticed that Jack seems to have some neurological issues that have been undiagnosed. You see, Jack appears to be farsighted. He can see, but will bump into things when he gets up close. He also sometimes has trouble taking food from your hand as if he cannot see it in front of his face. Because of this, reflections of himself sometimes startle him. He is easy to refocus with treats and toys though! Jack has been a little selective with dogs and has preferred dogs that are smaller than him. He does seem fixated on cat, though, and would do best in a home without felines. If you have a doggy at home, he would love to meet them before going home to make sure they're a good fit. Due to his vision issues, Jack needs a home with kids 12 years and older. He's such a sweet soul and deserving of a second chance at life. To help Jack be successful in his new home, we are offering supplemented training with a private trainer. We can also provide training plans to take home and a lesson with our trainers when you adopt him. Could you be the patient soul he longs for? If so, please schedule an appointment to meet him! Jack is neutered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on all vaccinations.
If you are interested in meeting Jack, please first submit an online adoption application located at www.kyhumane.org/dog-app. Once we have received your adoption application, our behavior team will follow up and provide you with more information.
I spent some time on the road, but a kind person took me to the Kentucky Humane Society. I am finished with my rambling ways and am ready to find a loving home.
