|Chili (Mod Squad)|
Chili here and I'm looking for my forever family, could it be you? I'm what they call a "retriever" and am a little over 2 years old and weigh right around 50 pounds. I came to the Kentucky Humane Society when this other shelter ran out of room. I was really shy when I came and everything scared me including the scale they made me stand on and the medicines they made me take. Even the leash thing was scary at first. I've started to figure out that the leash means good things so I'm ok with people putting it on me now. I really enjoy being around people but I have to sniff you all over and check you out before I'm ready for pets. If you're patient with me I will be a really good family member. I like to play with some other dogs but I can be a bit picky so it's probably best that I'm the only dog at this time! I recently saw these things called cats. They are super fun to chase but apparently cats don't like being chased so it's better if I'm in a home with no feline friends. I'm not too sure about kiddos either but I've recently met some nice young people and I'd probably be ok with kids but I'd also like to meet and "approve" them first. In addition to all my love and woofs, you get a supplemented training session with a private trainer, or an obedience class, to help me acclimate to your home. What a deal! I'm spayed, got all my shots, and I even have a micro-chip. All I need is you! Please go to www.kyhumane.org/dog-app to fill out an application.
This animal is a student in our Behavior Modification program. As part of our program, some of our canine friends have the opportunity to learn a few more skills before they are placed in homes. This also allows our staff to learn more about each animal's individual personality and needs. The goal of the Behavior Modification program is for these dogs to be adopted into appropriate homes with behavior counseling and support. An appointment is necessary to meet and adopt this animal.
If you are interested in meeting them, please first submit an online adoption application located at www.kyhumane.org/dog-app. Once we have received your adoption application, our behavior team will follow up and provide you with more information. You can also email [email protected] for more info.
Did you know that every Kentucky Humane Society adoptable dog and cat comes with 30 days of health insurance through MetLife Pet Insurance? Ask an adoption counselor for details.
