Say hello to the beautiful Addy! This five-year-old sweetheart came to the Kentucky Humane Society when her owner could no longer care for her. Addy appears to be an American Pit Bull Terrier mix, but she honestly looks like a miniature hippo. Addy's foster parents say she loves everyone she meets, loves to go on walks and explore her world, and is very loveable and sweet. They think she will make a great companion for her new family. Addy doesn't mind seeing other dogs when out on walks, but she has let us know she wants to be the only dog in the household so she can soak up all the love and attention. She also has a lot of fun trying to chase cats, so she would do best in a home with no cats or small animals. She is also housetrained and crate trained! Addy is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her shots.

As part of our ambassador program, some of our feline and canine friends have the opportunity to live in foster homes. This allows our staff to learn more about each animal's individual personality and needs, while they are in a more comfortable living space, outside of the shelter setting. The goal of the Adoption Ambassador program is for these foster animals to be adopted directly from their foster home. If you are interested in meeting them, please first submit an online adoption application located at www.kyhumane.org/dog-app. Once we have received your adoption application, our foster team will follow up and provide you with more information.

We need your help to care for the thousands of dogs, cats, and horses we take in each year. The Kentucky Humane Society saves every adoptable animal and provides them with food, shelter, spay/neuter surgeries, medical and behavioral assistance and then finds them loving homes. Your sponsorship of a special animal will help us save more lives! In addition, you can choose to Sponsor a Animal in honor of a loved one (two-legged or four-legged).

For a sponsorship of $250 or more for a dog or cat – or $500 or more for a horse – you will receive a photo and information about your special animal. Learn more about the Sponsor a Animal program.
