Meet Emma! Emma is a beautiful, one-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who weighs about 50 pounds. Emma came to the Kentucky Humane Society when her previous owner could no longer care for her and she was pretty stressed by all of the changes. We sent her into a foster home to relax while waiting for her forever home to come along and she has completely blossomed! Emma loves to play with the dog in her foster home and is turning into a snuggly companion with her foster parents. Emma can take a little bit to warm up to strangers, but once she does, she is playful and loving. She is very active so she would love to have a doggy sibling to help burn off some of her energy. She really wants to play with cats and will not leave them alone, so a home with no cats would be best for her. Emma's foster family describes her as cuddly, sweet and active. They also say she is house trained and crate trained. Since she can be a little mouthy in play at times, we think she would do best in a home with children age 12 and up. Emma is spayed, micro-chipped and up-to-date on her vaccinations.

As part of our ambassador program, some of our feline and canine friends have the opportunity to live in foster homes. This allows our staff to learn more about each animal's individual personality and needs, while they are in a more comfortable living space, outside of the shelter setting. The goal of the Adoption Ambassador program is for these foster animals to be adopted directly from their foster home. We need your help to care for the thousands of dogs, cats, and horses we take in each year. The Kentucky Humane Society saves every adoptable animal and provides them with food, shelter, spay/neuter surgeries, medical and behavioral assistance and then finds them loving homes. Your sponsorship of a special animal will help us save more lives! In addition, you can choose to Sponsor a Animal in honor of a loved one (two-legged or four-legged).
