|Chevy (Main Campus)|
Are you looking for a larger-than-life best friend? Well, Chevy is your guy! This soulful, five-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix came to the Kentucky Humane Society when a rural shelter ran out of space for a hefty gentleman such as himself. Chevy is what we would label as "extra large." He's about two fries short of a full size combo meal with extra cheese. At a whopping 110 pounds, he is quite a unit! However, and we haven't told Chevy this, he really needs to weigh about half of that. The poor fella has been through a lot of change, and we can't blame him for stress eating, but his new family really needs to help him reach a healthier weight so he can be happy and healthy! To help Chevy out in that area, we are feeding him a prescription diet with food that is easier to digest called Hill's Science Diet W/D. Chevy has played well with another mid-energy dog here at KHS. He's a bit slow to engage but does enjoy exchanging happy tap dances and play bows. We have not observed him around cats or children, though. Chevy is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his shots. All he's missing is a home!
I came to the Kentucky Humane Society from another shelter. The staff are still learning all about me. I miss being in a home and have a lot of love to give.
