Kitten Loses Leg but Gains Hope

Sir Davos came to the Kentucky Humane Society on July 5, after he suffered a terrible wound to his front right foot. His paw had been partially severed from his leg, leaving a gaping wound with bone sticking out.

Sir Davos had been living as an outside kitten. We don't know if Sir Davos was attacked by another animal or if his paw was severed by a lawn mower. Regardless, it was clear he was in a lot of pain when he arrived.

Sir Davos woundOur veterinary team immediately amputated his leg, as there was no way to save his paw.

Sir Davos has been healing well and is adjusting to life as a three-legged kitty. He will need a patient adopter who can help him relax and come out of his shell, as he is still a bit traumatized from his experience and shy around new people. He will also need his stitches removed after adoption.

Sir Davos is neutered, micro-chipped and vaccinated. Meet him at the Kentucky Humane Society’s adoption center at the Preston Feeders Supply, 5762 Preston Highway, Louisville. View all adoptable pets online at www.kyhumane.org or call 502-366-3355 for more information.
