Just a few hours ago, a one-year-old dog was rushed to KHS in critical condition after being found on the brink of death due to starvation. We are not sure how long this dog has been fending for himself outside in these freezing temperatures, but are grateful for the Good Samaritan who brought him to KHS. His body score is 1, weighing in at only 45 pounds when he should be at least 70. This poor pup, who we’ve named Miracle, is so weak that he cannot walk or lift his head, and he refuses to eat independently. Our veterinary team is doing everything they can to save his life, but Miracle’s prognosis is guarded. They are providing him with I.V. fluids while syringe-feeding him, and our vet team plans to be with him overnight to ensure he remains stable. We will be sure to update you as soon as we know more. For now, we ask that you please donate to help Miracle and animals like him get the Tender Loving Care they need. Only time will tell what kind of additional care Miracle might need.
Please keep this poor dog in your thoughts as he fights for his life. We believe in miracles, largely because we know every animal that comes through our doors has support from amazing people like you.
Donations in Miracle’s honor are appreciated. We will post updates about Miracle on Facebook and on this blog.
