$20 shots for Dog Flu Vaccination Day on June 20, 2018

For Dog Flu Vaccination Day, the Kentucky Humane Society’s Healthy Pets Clinic is offering $20 dog flu vaccines on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. Open 9 a.m.-4 p.m., this walk-in clinic is located at 241 Steedly Drive, Louisville. This is $5 off the regular price at the Healthy Pets Clinic.

Canine Influenza Virus, or dog flu, is a highly contagious respiratory illness that is easily transmitted though typical dog behaviors like barking, licking, sniffing, and sharing water bowls and toys. A dog could be contagious for almost a month after contracting dog flu.

Just like it is recommended for humans to get the flu shot every year, dogs also should be vaccinated annually against dog flu for their protection and to contain the spread of the disease.

We recommend that dogs visiting areas such as dog parks, doggie daycares, grooming salons, dog sporting events, dog shows or boarding facilities receive the dog flu vaccination.

If your dog received two vaccines against dog flu last year, she needs just 1 booster shot this year (12 months after the second vaccine). If your dog has not been vaccinated before, your dog will need two vaccines spaced 2-4 weeks apart for effectiveness. The $20 price is for June 20 only.
