Have you adopted from KHS? Your are invited to share how your pet has changed your life to help give KHS a chance to receive a $100,000 grand prize Holiday Wishes grant award from the Petco Foundation.
In partnership with BOBS from Skechers, the Petco Foundation is granting more than $750,000 this holiday season to qualified animal welfare organizations across the country. Awards will range from $5,000 to $100,000, and adopters with winning submissions will receive up to a $1,000 Petco shopping spree and a prize pack with BOBS from Skechers shoes.

Participants invited to register, raise money, and walk between Aug. 7-9 to support homeless animals; register by July 22 to get a T-shirt
Due to COVID-19 concerns, the Kentucky Humane Society is changing its annual Waggin’ Trail Walk for the Animals to a virtual event. This means participants can choose to walk in their own neighborhoods, at a nearby park or even on a treadmill at home to help KHS save more lives.
Grrr-ab your leashes and your four-legged best friend(s)! The Kentucky Humane Society’s 26th annual Waggin' Trail Walk and Festival for the Animals kicks off Sunday, May 31, at Louisville Slugger Field, 2-5 pm. There will be plenty of covered areas in case of rain! Join thousands of animal lovers and their canine companions for a fun-filled community dog walk and fundraiser.
Enjoy animal booths, food and beverage vendors and music. Fun and PAWsome activities throughout the day will keep your family and pets entertained! Lure coursing, painting with your pet, treats & delights to spoil your pooch, adoptable pets, and so much more!
LOUISVILLE KY – Coldwell-Banker’s national “Homes for Dogs Project” is this weekend, and the McMahan Co. office, based in Crestwood KY, is teaming up with the Kentucky Humane Society to lower adoption fees for all adult animals at the KHS East Campus, 1000 Lyndon Lane.
The 7th annual Yappy Hour event at Apocalypse Brew Works, Friday September 20th, features more than 30 beers to benefit the Kentucky Humane Society. Sample beers from 15 plus award-winning homebrewers and a full line up of Apocalypse Brew Works favorites. Dogs on leashes are welcome. Hot Buns food truck and dog treats will be available

KHS will be closed to the public for the holidays on the following days:
Feeders Supply adoption centers will close at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve. All our adoption centers will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
Healthy Pets Clinic will be open December 22 and then closed throughout the holiday, reopening December 26. Healthy Pets will also be closed Tuesday, New Year's Day.
KHS Pet Resorts will close to the public at noon on both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and they will be closed to the public on Christmas and New Year's Day.
Admissions will close at 3 p.m. Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, and will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day. Admissions are by appointment only.

The 2018 Waggin' Trail Walk and Festival for the Animals was held June 10. While the weather was not as cooperative as we would have liked, the results of the fundraiser were phenomenal! We raised just over $108,000, exceeding our goal and ensuring we'll be able to help even more dogs, cats and horses!
