Santa Lends a ‘Helping Paw’ to Area Animal Groups for 27th Year
For the 27th year in a row, Santa Claus will take time out of his busy schedule to help the Kentucky Humane Society KHS other area animal groups.
The annual Picture Your Pets with Santa holiday fundraiser will be held Saturdays and Sundays Dec. 6-7 and 13-14 at all Feeders Supply locations. Hours on Saturdays are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Hours on Sundays are 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Pet owners can get professional holiday portraits and gift items of their family members—four-legged and two-legged—and help local homeless animals. Proceeds benefit the Kentucky Humane Society, as well as HOPE for Pets of Bullitt County, Animal Protection Association of Clark County, Ind., and Floyd County (Ind.) Animal Rescue League. Last year’s event brought in more than $60,000 for local animal welfare agencies.
Photos are offered in various packages, starting at $12. Pet parents may choose to receive photos on a commemorative thumb drive for $26. Gift items featuring your pet’s photo, including ornaments, mugs and key chains are also available, starting at $14. New this year is a Christmas stocking. Pet owners are asked to have dogs on leashes and cats and other pets in carriers.
Picture Your Pets with Santa is a volunteer-driven event, and 100% of proceeds benefit the participating animal rescue organizations.
