A Big Thanks to the Arnall Family Foundation and ASPCA for Their Support

The Kentucky Humane Society is grateful for the Arnall Family Foundation's and the ASPCA's support of our new Animal Relocation Vehicle, which helps us safely and comfortably transport shelter animals from rural animal shelters across Kentucky to KHS for adoption.

At just four weeks of age, the little orange kitten had already known a lifetime of heartache.

Papaya was orphaned when her mother was hit by a car. With no one to protect her, she was attacked by an animal and gravely injured.

After 23 successful years of partnering with Feeders Supply, KHS to centralize adoptions at three locations and increase pet retention services

LOUISVILLE KY – For 23 years, the Kentucky Humane Society and Feeders Supply have partnered to find loving homes for shelter dogs and cats, with Feeders Supply stores providing space for KHS adoption centers.

But with changes in animal welfare, KHS has decided to centralize their adoptions to three key locations: their East Campus at 1000 Lyndon Lane, their Sam Swope Pet Treatment & Lifesaving Center at 241 Steedly Drive, and adoptions at Purrfect Day Café on Bardstown Road.

Dear Friend of the Animals,

The animals at the Kentucky Humane Society desperately need your help.

Hundreds of dogs, cats and horses are in need of lifesaving care, loving attention and forever homes.

And during the coronavirus pandemic, it’s become even more challenging to help these animals. Our resources are stretched to the limit.

Now more than ever, it’s crucial that the Kentucky Humane Society is here for companion animals and the people who love them.

Donations are being matched through Thursday, April 23, so your gift will have TWICE the impact. The Joanne W. Gauntt Charitable Foundation is matching donations to the Kentucky Humane Society, up to a total of $35,000, to help us address the COVID-19 crisis.

Dear Friend of Animals,

I’m excited to tell you about an amazing matching gift opportunity — and to introduce you to two little lives you can help.

Right now, thanks to three amazing animal advocates, we have a $30,000 Spring Matching Gift Challenge! Every gift the Kentucky Humane Society receives before April 14 will be matched, dollar for dollar, until the challenge is met.

BISSELL Pet Foundation (BPF) is aiming to bring holiday hope to homeless pets with its national Empty the Shelters – Holiday Hope event. On Dec. 13-14, 2019, BPF will support over 110 shelters by offering reduced-fee pet adoptions – including the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) and Metro Animal Services (MAS).

During these days, KHS is reducing adoption fees on dogs to $25 and will be charging no adoption fees on cats. MAS is waiving all adoption fees both days for all cats and dogs, thanks to BPF and the non-profit, Friends of Metro Animal Services.
