Meet Leland!
My name is Leland and I am so excited to find my forever home! I may look big and intimidating at first, but I promise I’m just a 90-pound cuddle bug looking for someone to lean on (literally).
I know my size can be a bit shocking, but I ask that you look past that and see me for the gentle soul I am. I was found wandering all alone before being rescued, so I am so thankful to now have a warm bed, regular meals, and most importantly, people at KHS who love me. Now I’m hoping to find the perfect place to call home so that I can put my wandering ways behind me!
Don’t let my reserved nature when we first meet fool you. Once I feel comfortable and get to know you, I absolutely blossom into an affectionate friend. I love nothing more than pets and head scratches! My favorite is leaning all my weight against you while you shower me with love. I’m like a giant weighted blanket!
While I’d make a loyal companion for nearly any family, I’d do best in a home with older, gentle children who understand I may need some time and space at first. I’m also happy to meet any canine siblings you may have! And not to brag, but I’m super smart and adorable and everyone at KHS calls me “the handsomest.”
