Say hello to Vlad! This majestic five-year-old is looking for placement as a Working Cat! Vlad gives conflicting signals here at the shelter and isn't a fan of handling that an indoor home would typically provide. However, he does headbutt his friends and asks for petting on his own terms! Working cats may choose to live primarily outdoors but do require protection from weather and the elements as well as routine animal care from their family. A cat's presence often discourages the presence of unwanted pests like rodents as well. Although working cats may act a little differently than a "typical" pet feline, they can still become meaningful members of the family after their adjustment period! Vlad was abandoned with another cat and could do well among other cats. We do not know how he interacts with livestock, children, or dogs. He is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Sponsor A Pet

We need your help to care for the thousands of dogs, cats, and horses we take in each year. The Kentucky Humane Society saves every adoptable animal and provides them with food, shelter, spay/neuter surgeries, medical and behavioral assistance, and then finds them loving homes. Your sponsorship of a special animal will help us save more lives! In addition, you can choose to Sponsor an Animal in honor of a loved one (two-legged or four-legged).

For a sponsorship of $250 or more for a dog or cat – or $500 or more for a horse – you will receive a photo and information about your special animal.
