Corporate Group Volunteer Opportunities at the Kentucky Humane Society
When your company partners with the Kentucky Humane Society, you’ll join a dedicated community of animal lovers and supporters. There are several ways to get involved with your peers while making a difference and truly benefiting our animals. We offer a variety of meaningful opportunities tailored to your group’s size and the current needs of the shelter. To help support our volunteer program and the animals in our care, we ask for a $250 donation at the time of your group project. To learn more or schedule a project, please contact our Volunteer Engagement Manager at [email protected].

Animal Enrichment & Cleaning
Spend your morning at our Sam Swope Pet TLC (241 Steedly Drive). We welcome groups to provide hands-on help to our shelter staff Tuesday-Saturday between 8-11:30 a.m. You can spend between two and four hours and bring up to 25 individuals (18+ in age). You’ll leave knowing you’ve helped shelter animals and the people who love them. Tasks can include cleaning, bagging food, making adoption folders, special projects, etc.
Host a Donation Drive
Hosting a donation drive to gather supplies from our Wish List is a wonderful way to bring joy to shelter animals. Click here to see items on our wishlist that can be collected and brought to our shelter.
A Day at Willow Hope Farm
Visit our Willow Hope Farm in Simpsonville. We welcome groups to take part in special projects Tuesday-Saturday between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. You can spend between two and four hours and bring up to 25 individuals (18+ in age). Tasks can include painting/mending fences, landscaping, cleaning stalls and the barn area, etc. This is a more labor-intensive volunteer opportunity, but you are able to take a tour and meet our Home Herd horses!
Volunteer from Your Office or Home
While our At Home Packet is normally intended for students who need hours for schools/clubs or sports, everything in the packet is helpful for people of all ages.
Date with a Dog
Get to know a shelter dog a little better by taking them out on a date! This fun activity allows team members to take a dog out of the shelter for a few hours. Depending on your group size, you can split up or go as a large group. Our dogs cannot mingle with each other, so if you take more than one out, each group has to stay separate for safety. We permit up to five dogs to go out at a time.
KHS provides you with all the supplies needed for a great dog date! Pick up times are 8:30-11:00 a.m., and dogs must be back at our 241 Steedly Drive location by 4:00 p.m. You can go on a date Tuesday-Saturday. No kids under the age of 12 can attend.
We cannot guarantee certain energy levels of each dog. Please be prepared for at least a 30-pound dog (minimum) to go on a date with you. Your entire group should arrive at the shelter within 15 minutes of your scheduled pick-up time.
