An adult dog has already mastered the art of being a fantastic furry friend! Past their puppy stage, they may know basic cues and are often already potty trained, making the transition to your home smooth and enjoyable. With years of love and experience to share, they are ready to become your loyal companion and bring joy, laughter and unconditional love to your family. All dogs adopted from KHS are spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

Bub is currently being treated for heartworms, but please don't let that scare you away! With the right care and treatment, which KHS will fully explain, Bub can live a happy, comfortable life. KHS covers all heartworm treatment expenses. The best part? You can foster Bub during this time, and once they get the all-clear from KHS' vet, you can officially adopt them! Ask an adoption counselor for more information.

Sponsor A Pet

We need your help to care for the thousands of dogs, cats, and horses we take in each year. The Kentucky Humane Society saves every adoptable animal and provides them with food, shelter, spay/neuter surgeries, medical and behavioral assistance, and then finds them loving homes. Your sponsorship of a special animal will help us save more lives! In addition, you can choose to Sponsor an Animal in honor of a loved one (two-legged or four-legged).

For a sponsorship of $250 or more for a dog or cat – or $500 or more for a horse – you will receive a photo and information about your special animal.
