Stella's story is one of quiet resilience and second chances. This beautiful Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse mare was captured as a starving stray in Eastern Kentucky, unsure of people and in desperate need of care. Since arriving at the Kentucky Humane Society's Willow Hope Farm, Stella has slowly learned that humans can be kind, patient, and safe.
Over the past few months, Stella has made wonderful progress in training and rehabilitation. She can now be caught in the pasture, haltered, and led with ease. She stands politely for both the veterinarian and farrier and continues to gain confidence every day. While Stella has not been started under saddle, and we do not plan for her to be, she is looking for a loving home as a companion mare. Stella would thrive with someone who appreciates the quiet bond that comes from earning a horse's trust. She is searching for a patient adopter who can continue helping her blossom while giving her the peaceful life she deserves.
