Meet Spark! This sweet 4-year-old girl may be a little shy at first, but once she warms up, she's a total cuddle bug! She enjoys daily walks, playing with her toys, and relaxing on the couch with her favorite people. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and has previously lived with cats. She would do best with children ages 10+ and prefers smaller dogs, with slow introductions on neutral ground. Spark is a clever girl who can open doors and should be crated when left alone. She has also been working on managing her excitement and herding-like behaviors. She's learned helpful skills like "sit" and "touch" to help herself settle. To continue her progress, her adopters are eligible for a complimentary private training session or a 6-week training class.

All dogs adopted from KHS are spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

Sponsor A Pet

We need your help to care for the thousands of dogs, cats, and horses we take in each year. The Kentucky Humane Society saves every adoptable animal and provides them with food, shelter, spay/neuter surgeries, medical and behavioral assistance, and then finds them loving homes. Your sponsorship of a special animal will help us save more lives! In addition, you can choose to Sponsor an Animal in honor of a loved one (two-legged or four-legged).

For a sponsorship of $250 or more for a dog or cat – or $500 or more for a horse – you will receive a photo and information about your special animal.
