Help Pups Like Prudence Today
At just one and a half years old, Prudence arrived at KHS yesterday in desperate need of medical attention. She is unable to put any weight on her back right leg, but despite the pain she must be experiencing, Prudence has an incredibly sweet spirit.
To better understand what was causing her pain, we took X-rays, which revealed that Prudence’s back right femur is broken.
How she came to be in this condition is unknown, but we’ll stick by her side regardless. We’re determining whether we can repair Prudence’s leg with a pin or if amputation may ultimately be the safest option for her. For now, we’ve started her on pain medication and are ensuring she gets ample rest to keep her comfortable while we map out her recovery plan.
We are hopeful this sweet girl can put this trauma behind her and go on to live a happy, healthy life. We’ll keep you posted on her progress, but in the meantime, you can support animals just like her in their times of need by donating today. Together, we can make sure that vulnerable pets in our community are welcomed with open arms when they arrive at KHS in need of help.
