We’ve Officially Broken Ground!
Yesterday, we officially broke ground for our new Animal & Community Campus, slated to open in 2027! Statewide supporters and staff members gathered to celebrate this monumental milestone, and the excitement we shared will only grow in coming months as we continue to build this new space.
This new campus will include approximately 54,000 square feet of indoor space and 7,000 square feet of covered outdoor space, a transformational leap from the infrastructure we have outgrown after decades of service.
This new facility will have:
- A low-cost public veterinary clinic so families don’t have to make the heartbreaking choice between paying rent and saving their beloved pet
- 30% more housing for cats and dogs awaiting loving homes
- Flexible emergency housing for animals rescued from cruelty, neglect or natural disasters
- An education space, training programs and resources that strengthen the bond between people and pets
- And so much more!
When we support people, animals do better. And when animals do better, our communities are stronger too! Learn more about this amazing project at kyhumane.org/allin.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, our Board of Directors announced an incredibly generous $500,000 matching gift for our ALL IN campaign. They are challenging YOU to help them raise the next $500,000. Whether you give $1,000 or $5, your donation will make a great impact on the future of KHS and all the animals we’ll serve in our new space.

We can’t wait to share more with you as this project progresses. We encourage you to join us at one of our many upcoming events to learn more about how you can be ALL IN for Kentucky’s animals. In fact, our President & CEO, Alisa Gray, be hosting a conference call next Wednesday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. to share exclusive updates and answer questions! There’s no need to register – simply call 1-877-365-5237 next Wednesday to join us.
Thank you for being part of this journey!
