March Right In to Find Your Best Friend – Now through 3/13!

KHS WAIVING ADOPTION FEES FOR DOGS 40 POUNDS AND OVER THROUGH 3/13!

The Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) is kicking off the month of March by waiving adoption fees for dogs 40 pounds and over during the March Right In to Find Your Best Friend event, taking place now through Sunday, March 13 at KHS’ Main and East Campus adoption centers.

KHS is currently very full on large dogs and the goal of the March Right In to Find Your Best Friend event is to find loving homes for as many as possible in order to free up shelter space so KHS can help rescue more large dogs from overcrowded shelters throughout Kentucky. As the largest animal adoption agency in the state, many overcrowded rural shelters rely on KHS to bring their animals to safety and find them loving families. KHS can only help, however, if there is space in the shelter to accommodate additional animals.

“Thanks to our lifesaving partnerships with rural Kentucky shelters, when you adopt from KHS you’re not just giving a loving home to your new best friend,” said Karen Koenig, Vice President Animal Welfare, KHS. “You’re also helping give a second chance to animals in need throughout the state.”

The KHS adoption fee for dogs over 40 pounds is usually $200, so the event offers significant savings for families and individuals who are looking to adopt their new best friend. Jefferson County residents who choose to adopt will still be required to pay a $10.50 licensing fee. Donations are gratefully accepted!
