Join us in congratulating our Volunteer of the Month, sponsored by ADP: Laura Coffey!
Laura volunteers at the Purrfect Day Cat Cafe in Louisville, and our staff and feline friends greatly appreciate her help. When asked about a moment that stood out to Laura, this is what she mentioned:
“I was nearing the end of a shift when a reserved young man came in. I asked if he was looking to adopt or just there for kitty snuggles. He mentioned he was ready to adopt but seemed a little hesitant. As soon as he sat down, one of the cats jumped into his lap and made herself home—she had clearly chosen him. I told him the ‘cat distribution system’ had spoken, but he still felt he needed to prepare more. We talked about cat care, introductions to a new home, and what new adopters typically need. He had plenty of questions, and I was happy to share my experience as a longtime cat mom. My shift ended before his visit was over, but I later found out he came back and adopted the very cat who had chosen him. I love when the right cat and person find each other. In a perfect world, every cat has a home, and every home has a cat.”
