Horses 101 is a four-week course for anyone wishing to learn more about horses and their care. The program kicks off Saturday, March 2 at the Kentucky Humane Society’s Willow Hope Farms as part of its Equine C.A.R.E. Program. This course is ideal for first-time horse owners, potential adopters or anyone who would like to gain basic equine care and handling knowledge. Course topics include safety around horses, equine behavior, grooming, nutrition, preventative care, maintenance and more!
The Horses 101 course is $200 per person. Potential first-time adopters who are interested in adoption through KHS and complete this course may have their $200 fee applied towards their adoption fees. This course is held indoors under a covered arena, so all courses are rain or shine.
