One-Month-Old Kitten Found in Dumpster

Kittens like Kitkat Need You

This kitten was thrown away. Literally. At just one month old, Kitkat was found wrapped in a plastic bag in a dumpster, discarded as if his life didn’t matter. When the Good Samaritan who found him told us the story, our hearts broke, but we sprang into action and promised Kitkat “never again.”

Because he’s too young to be away from his mother and at-risk of “single kitten syndrome,” we decided to attempt a “surrogate” placement. Lucky for us, a mama cat named Poke Bowl was also in our care and dutifully caring for her litter. Poke welcomed Kitkat as a new addition and now it’s as if he’s been part of her family all along.

As we speak, Kitkat is snuggled up with a full belly, enjoying the warmth of his newfound siblings. He has a mama to watch over him as he grows and, eventually, will start his search for a forever family. This kitten season, we anticipate even more kittens to arrive at KHS in desperate need of help. We need your help giving them a second chance at happy, healthy lives. Please donate in Kitkat’s honor so that we can continue providing emergency, lifesaving care to our community’s most vulnerable animals, no matter how small, scared or sick they are.
