"Outta There," lovingly known around the barn as "Otter," is a 5-year-old Off-the-Track Thoroughbred who decided early on that the fast-paced racing life simply wasn't for him. Built more like a Quarter Horse than a typical Thoroughbred, Otter is a sturdy bay gelding with soulful eyes, a goofy personality, and enough affection to completely steal your heart.
Otter came to us after showing signs of discomfort under saddle, and spinal radiographs later confirmed he has a mild case of kissing spine. Because of this, Otter is looking for a special home where he can enjoy a slower, more leisurely lifestyle as a companion horse. He thrives most with quiet pasture time, gentle interactions, and people who simply enjoy being in his company. And trust us, you'll want to spend all your time with him. Otter is the definition of sweet. He adores human attention, loves kisses, and has a way of making everyone who meets him fall in love instantly. Whether he's following you around the pasture or resting his head in your arms, Otter's gentle nature shines through in everything he does. To help keep him comfortable, Otter takes daily anti-inflammatories and may require interspinous process injections as needed.
