Help support vulnerable animals like Suni and Simone!
These sweet, two-month-old Chihuahua puppies recently arrived at KHS in bad shape. They were covered in Demodectic Mange (Demodex) – a skin condition that is caused by microscopic mites that embed into a dog’s skin. Suni and Simone had raw, itchy skin and were covered in scabs, so our veterinary team immediately began treatment. They provided these poor siblings with topical and oral medication to ease their discomfort and jump-start their healing, while also preventing potential infection. But a shelter is no place for puppies this small to heal, so we quickly found them a loving foster home. For now, Suni and Simone will continue to peacefully recover in their foster home while coming in for regular check-ups with our veterinary team.
