Support Animals Impacted by Tropical Storm Debby

Last week, 14 small dogs and puppies were transported to our Sam Swope Pet Treatment and Lifesaving Center by the ASPCA after they were affected by Tropical Storm Debby. These poor pups were evacuated from the Humane Society of Valdosta in Lowndes County, Georgia, after their shelter and community experienced severe storm damage. By taking in these 14 dogs – all of which were unowned and in the shelter before the storms hit – KHS helped create vital shelter space for animals who were displaced during Tropical Storm Debby. Thankfully, most of these new arrivals seem stable and comfortable. However. they will still require medical and behavioral assessments before being made available for adoption in coming weeks.

Disaster relief efforts like this one are made possible by our Tender Loving Care (TLC) Fund. Thanks to our friends at Flew the Coop, founded by Christopher N. Harding, ALL GIFTS made to KHS through August 15 will be matched dollar-for-dollar! That means your donation will DOUBLE to support TWICE as many vulnerable animals as they recover from tragedies like Tropical Storm Debby. Donate using the button below or online at kyhumane.org/donate, and help us save even more lives. Thank you for your continued support!
