Help a grateful shelter cat declare their kitty independence by adopting before July 5!

During the “Cat Independence Adoption Celebration” June 30- July 5, 2020, cats 1 year and older can be adopted for a reduced adoption fee of $17.76, in honor of the founding of our country. Jefferson County adopters also pay for pet licensing fees ($10.50) and donations are gratefully accepted.

Right now, the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) is in the midst of “kitten season”, with hundreds of kittens who were born this spring coming into Louisville’s shelters ready for adoption. This time of year can be particularly difficult for adult cats looking for homes, as it is hard for them to compete with fluffy kittens. To help them out, KHS is reducing adoption fees on adult kitties 1 year and older through Sunday, July 5.

All pets adopted from KHS have been spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, vaccinated and given worm, flea and tick preventatives – services which are valued at more than $250. The adoption special runs June 30- July 5. Adoption is pending approval of an application process that usually takes an hour or less and adoptions are by appointment only.

The adoption special takes place at the KHS East Campus located at 1000 Lyndon Lane and at Purrfect Day Café located at 1741 Bardstown Road. To schedule an appointment and to see all cats participating in our adoption special, visit kyhumane.org/cats.
